Traveler informacion

Please bring all the money you need for your stay in Cuba in cash (Euro / USD or other currency). There are no reliable banks or ATMs where you can withdraw money, and only a few places accept Visa or Mastercard.

Due to high inflation, most people exchange money on the informal market to avoid losing value with the official rate. If you need help or advice, please don’t hesitate to ask us!

Money

Cuba occasionally experiences power outages. At Hostal Kerida we have a solar emergency system to provide electricity for our guestsin power outages or Hurrican season.

Not all places in the country can guarantee a constant supply! So we recommend bringing a power bank and a flashlight so you’re prepared for any situation during your travels.

If you use an iPhone or Mac, please install a VPN (for example Psiphon) before your trip. Without it, you may not be able to access the App Store or some other applications while in Cuba due to the sanctions.

For navigation, we highly recommend Maps.Me — it works also offline and has a GPS! Just please make sure to download the Cuba map before your arrival.

Important Apps

To enter Cuba, you will need a valid visa (tourist card), your passport, proof of travel health insurance, and the D’Viajeros form.

The D’Viajeros form is a simple online travel document that must be completed before your arrival. After filling it out, you’ll receive a QR code that you should present at immigration when entering Cuba.

We want you to enjoy your trip safely and comfortably. Pharmacies can sometimes lack basic items, so please bring any personal medication and essentials you may need. If you need medical assistance during your stay, we’ll gladly help you find the right clinic or doctor.

Please note that tap water is not drinkable in Cuba. We always provide filtered or bottled water for our guests at Hostal Kerida.
